About the Play
Harry is lost. He’s happy neither with the state of his fantasy novel nor with the state of his life. To make it even worse, things couldn’t be going better for his flatmate and best friend, Jordan, whose debut novel is a commercial and critical success, and who is growing ever closer romantically with Harry’s crush, Daisy. To cope with the events of his real life, Harry frequently escapes into his fantasy world, where he is the hero and gets the girl. However, soon the lines between fiction and reality start to blur until he can no longer tell who he’s talking to – is it Daisy, or the pixie Poppy?
Not only is tension rising between Harry, Jordan, and Daisy, but their friends also seem to be approaching a breaking point. Tempest is fed up with managing, ghostwriting, and basically doing everything for their sister, the former child star Emerald, who gets all the recognition. At the same time, in the chaotic love triangle, the poet, Adrian, and the playwright, Will, are verbally and physically competing for Joyce’s love. In these situations, “I could kill you” rolls off the tongue easily enough, but who will really make their murderous fantasies a reality and kill their darlings?
