About the Play
The Nettletons expect just cocktails, sunburns, gambling and the Hairy Man Contest from their family holiday on the Caribbean cruise ship the M.S. Stillwater. You know, just the usual cruise-holiday.
Unbeknownst to them and the crew, two “very scary” buccaneers from the Pirate Appreciation Movement are also on board. The saltiest pirate captain of the seven seas, Walker D. Plank, and his sidekick Halitosis Halvard believe modern piracy has lost its “good” name. On the Talk Like a Pirate Day, an event hosted by the crew, they plan to hijack the cruise ship to make pirates feared and appreciated once again.
Yet, the two are not the only shady figures on board. The fugitive museum curator Frederick Fillingsworth has also snuck aboard. In his suitcase, he carries a valuable (and stolen) artefact to return to his eldritch grandfather beneath the sea. It is up to the Captain of the M.S. Stillwater and his French (or is she Italian?) second in command Bridget to stop chaos from breaking out.
