About the Play

Things couldn’t be going better for the five members of Broken Strings: The release
of their second album has firmly established them as one of the biggest rock bands in the world and in celebration, they’re about to embark on a sold-out tour across the country.

As their new driver and long-time fan, Van is thrilled to finally meet their idols and get the show on the road. However, when Jude, the lead singer, changes the setlist last minute without consulting the rest of the band, an argument breaks out between them, and a number of grudges and secrets come to light. Indeed, between creative differences, broken friendships, power plays, and secret romances, it appears that the band isn’t as perfect as Van is originally led to believe. And if that wasn’t enough, there’s a trio of groupies that worryingly follow the band wherever they go, and the warm-up act Hollie and Buddy seem to be struggling with issues of their own (can you really write a song about gluten-free cookies if nothing rhymes with ‘coeliac’?).

With all of that, it raises the question: Will Broken Strings make it through their tour intact? Or will they be forced to face the music before they can reach their final show?
